Extreme walking, Repentance and ski touring (Alpine climbing)

Been a bit of a mixed bag here last few days. Weather has been absolutely amazing, so Ross and I packed some multi day bags and went looking for some gnarly north faces to climb. First we walked up to the NE spur on the Droites, but found it too dry low down, so walked back out (hard work without skis!), got the lift down to Argentiere for lunch then headed back up for a look at the Nant Blanc face on the Aiguille Verte. Again, very dry low down. Same story on the Dru. One very cold bivi later and we were back in Chamonix, feeling like we’d done a lot but actually having done very little!

Next day we did Repentance at Cogne, which was superb but very busy.

Finally today I skied the Breche Puiseaux with Alison and Andy. A tour I’ve wanted to do for ages, and lived up to all expectations, apart from waiting for a large, slow, bumbly french team (they do exist!) to finally finish abseiling in front of us.
