This is a 200Km 6 stage race around the Ecrins national park Following (mainly) the GR 54 Hiking trail. Es came second, behind Benoit Leval, the established record holder, in 2006. He is hoping to trounce him this year! Es has also got his eye on Donald Naylor

July 29th 2007 First stage and the fastest. Es says he improved by 8 mins on last year but was 8 mins behind Benoit, who beat the stage record. Benoit 2.41.50 Es 2.49.47 Donald 2.50.23 Es is happy with today and says he is content “to stay within striking distance” – there are rougher stages to follow.
